Fantastic little BBQ joint for a quick, mouth watering, satiated sandwich!!! Best BBQ in the area!!! Great staff too!!! This is a MUST STOP... you won't be disappointed!!!

Ridiculously good BBQ. They only use locally available hardwoods in their smoker and cook it to perfection. Please give them a try if you are lucky enough to catch them still open. They will sell out on nice days.

Best sides ever: potato salad and cucumber salad(my favorite anywhere) and sweet slaw. Ribs were great and bbq is delicious. It is now my favorite takeout joint. I will make the drive again real soon.

Just like any barbecue place worth it’s weight I’m pork, this place is really unassuming. It’s in a tired old former gas station, but the food is far from tired. The portions are mammoth. (Two people can easily share the BBQ platter.) And it’s clear that everything is cooked with passion. You can tell these folks enjoy what they do. This is easily in my top three for best barbecue joints in Virginia.

Very good pulled pork but they pre add sauce and I prefer to add sauce myself. I'm of the opinion that the smoked pork should be able to stand on its own without sauce. I think theirs could so maybe give me that option? The place itself is a hoot. A few picnic tables outside but no inside seating.

Stopped by this place, great quick service and the Mac and cheese / BBQ is out of this world. My husband and I split a platter and couldn’t be happier 😋

A great place to stop by. Very nice guys running it, the food is so so good and the portions are generous. You won’t wait long for your food and is worth the stop heading home.

This place may not look like much on the outside but do yourself a FLAVOR and get in there! The smoke flavor in the pulled pork & the dry rub ribs are phenomenal. We consider ourselves BBQ snobs & Paulie's is amazing. Baked beans, cole slaw & mac and cheese didn't disappoint either! We will return!

The best bbq in the area. If you are brewery hopping and want some properly smoked ribs this is the place to go and much better than what some big establishments have. Hot bbq sauce is great on the ribs. Full rack cut is what you see below, snacked on them all weekend. Can’t wait to get some more.

We stop by every time we are in the area and never leave disappointed. The pork BBQ and all of the sides are awesome. Portion sizes are large. Make sure and try the mac and cheese!

My favorite BBQ place ever, sells out often so call 1st. I have Been going here for years now and it's always the same. I consider the owner a friend and it's nice to see people out here that still make real FOOD that you can feel good about feeding your family with.

Ribs are fantastic...didn't even try the BBQ sauce (the highest compliment possible). Service was very friendly. Pricing is a little steep, but the value for what you get is still there.

This place is amazing, top notch bbq and delicious mac n cheese.

Everything is delicious. From the bbq pork sandwiches to the ribs, to the amazing smoked chicken. All of the sides are home made and delicious but the Mac and cheese is to die for. I've never had a bad meal and the portions are very large for what you pay. If you stop in once, you'll want to stop in every time you pass.

Well the ribs were sold out the day I went. But the pulled pork and chicken was good. Chicken with the BBQ sauce was very good. Sides were ok also

Best pulled pork this side of Memphis. This is a great place if you want great food, fast service, and an authentic atmosphere.I highly recommend the pulled pork platter, which features great pulled pork (of course) and a variety of sides in generous servings. The mac and cheese and the slaw were great.

Holy BBQ! Wonderful hole in the wall BBQ joint that also does catering. Portion sizes were outrageously large. Could do with less, personally. But the service was top notch, by the owner himself. Enjoyed conversation about Paulie's roots and learning more about the area. Can't recommend enough! But, if a small eater, try and split a meal.

When we drive three hours to the Blue Ridge Mountains, this is a must stop. Easily the best Virginia style barbecue to be found anywhere.This is a do-one-thing-and-do-it-well kind of place. Don't expect much variety. Just expect the best.

Oh my God!Hands down the best I have ever had in VA! Juicy, well seasoned pork (I don't eat pork regularly but this was the best time to catch a break!) The looks of this place are misleading. it is just a little shack in the middle of the road but I guarantee you. You will not regret to have stopped by. Get the BBQ Burger.

This is the perfect place to stop for barbecue! The cheesy picnic tables and slightly icky environs are the appropriate place for eating the most delicious pulled pork you’ll ever have! Very generous portions (I couldn’t finish mine) and delicious sides. You won’t regret stopping here.

A lil drive to get there, but worth it! Ask for slaw on the sandwich and use your sides for other good food. Me & my son agree the Mac n chz is awesome!! Paulie’s Granny’s Recipe!

Absolutely Fantastic!!! Some of the best barbecue I've ever had!! The staff Inside are super awesome and friendly. it's a small place that you might miss if you're driving too fast, so slow down as you come around the corner towards the restaurant. I had the pulled pork barbecue sandwich,(with macaroni cheese and the cucumber salad on the side, both of which were delicious) and it was so Smokey and delicious, and they've got the smoker going outside and the aroma is Simply Amazing. I love this place, it's cozy and the food is really great! Definitely worth stopping here! Yummy!!!

Drove past all the time when visiting all the wineries and distilleries nearby and finally stopped in today. The outside isn't much. A little shack with a couple picnic tables outside, but dont let it fool you. The food and friendly staff are A++! The portions are huge, prices are fair, and the order comes out quick. And it's delicious! Definitely worth a stop along the road for lunch! Pulled pork sandwich with their spicy house sauce, was amazing!
